近代から現代へ:分断と統合、そして混迷

近代に入ると、イエメンはオスマン帝国の支配とイギリスによるアデンの植民地化という、異なる二つの影響下に置かれました。これにより、北部のムタワキリテ王国と南部のイギリス領アデンという分断状態が続きました。
